Environment and Territory
Home | Company | Sustainability | Environment and Territory
Proud of our numerous PDO and PGI products, authentic local excellences, we are aware of how fundamental the link with the territory is and how the territory itself is the true cradle of Italian tradition and cuisine. This awareness inevitably leads to a sense of responsibility towards the territories that host our activities.
Our commitments are expressed in the Environmental Policy.
Emissions
We measure the greenhouse gas emissions associated with our business, both direct and indirect, and have committed to becoming net-zero by 2050, with an interim target for 2035. These ambitious targets have been validated by Science Based Targets.
Energy
We monitor energy consumption, constantly strive to reduce it, and are progressively integrating the use of renewable energy: we have photovoltaic systems with a capacity of 485.96 kWp and are currently expanding them, and we purchase certified electricity from renewable sources, with an increasing share over the years: by 2026, we will reach 40% of total energy purchased.

Plastic
Plastic cannot always be eliminated: it is still the most suitable material for ensuring the safety and quality of a fresh and delicate product such as ours. Nevertheless, it can and must be managed more responsibly. Through a joint effort with our suppliers, B-Green was created: a project to reduce the plastic used in our packaging (up to 25% less than in 2019) and ensure a minimum of 65% recycled plastic.
Circular economy
In our most complex plants, we have systems that purify wastewater by extracting its organic components, which are then sold to specialized operators who use them to produce biogas or compost. In this way, 937.33 tons of biological sludge were included in thiscircularflow in 2024.
RiVending Project
We have joined the RiVending to collect and recycle the plastic cups used in our offices. The recycled plastic will be used to produce new cups, reducing the consumption of virgin raw materials and greenhouse gas emissions.
